  • "When the bee stings..."

This a just a quick little post and I hope it helps someone out there for any future bee stings or ant stings or spider bites or poison ivy, oak or sumac.  I was weeding ferociously  and after a good bit I said to myself  "you always wear gloves and today you did not...."  Then WHAM!!!....I never did see what stung me but all I know is that it stung like crazy...all over the inside of my hand and up my fingers.  Yowee!  I ran my hand under cold water....that did not help...I searched for the benadryl creme and could not find it.  Then I remembered my essential oil class and the concoction I make for poison ivy.  I mixed it up quickly and plopped it on and in only a short while all stinging was gone, what little swelling that began was gone and the little bump at the immediate site was not even sore!  There was a tiny pin dot bruise but even that went away after my second plopping of this stuff.  I covered it with a non stick gauze pad because it was on the upper palm of my hand and I was touching everything making a mess.

Here is what I mixed together to form a wonderful poultice to draw out poisons and reduce swelling....if caught in time.

Cosmetic Grade Fullers Earth Powder (A few TBLS)
(I usually use French Green Clay powder...which works VERY well too, but I was all out.)

Lavender Essential Oil (several drops...5.  or 6)
    Sea Salt (I don't know...I just dumped some in....maybe 1-2 TBLS)
    A tiny bit of water

Just go with the water very slowly as you only want a thick paste

I knew this worked as I use it for poison ivy and I knew it worked for bee stings but I never knew it worked this well.  To hurt so badly and then to not have even a sign of a sting, not even swelling, after an hour is amazing to me.

Hope you never have to try this stuff but if you do you will have the recipe.
My Fuller's earth is years and years old....so storage is not an issue.  I bought it in a little zip lock baggie at an herb store many years ago.  It lasts forever apparently.
