It's Dots and Stripes this time around in the Photo Contest on iliveinmycamera. Will entered once again. He is turning into an avid photographer! He even got 1 credit this year for the many hours he spends trying to perfect his skills.
He will spend hours in his blind trying to get bird shots or what ever else wonders his way. He is a very patient guy.If you care to take a look...there are a few really good ones this week. Please vote. Anyone can vote, even if you are not here on xanga. Will has his learner's permit. I have enjoyed driving with him. Today we were out when the car decided to over heat. We did not notice at first. I heard him say "the check gauges light is on." Okay....I thought he meant the check engine light which is always on. But then I glanced over and saw the water temperature needle rising at a nice steady pace. Ummmm....well...it looks like we might have a problem. We turned off the air conditioner. I told him to keep his eyes on the road and I would watch the gauge.I don't know why things like this happen but just ahead we see a flag woman and up goes the STOP sign. Not good...an idle car sitting in the hot sun that is already over heating....just not good. The longer we sat there the more nervous we were getting and then suddenly we heard a tremendous pop...like a cork popping off a bottle of champagne and then a funny little sound and just like that the needle went back down to the cool side.Hmmmmm......something is not quite right I say. We were able to scoot up a tad and turn onto a side road where we pulled over. I am thinking a hose broke or something and there should be fluid all over the place but there was nothing. We just decided to keep going as we were fairly close to the place we were headed. We got there fine and after giving things some time to cool Will and one of the guys where we were went out to check things out. Well...the pop was the water over flow container lid popped off and the hose was all sucked in and the cooler container was empty. He filled it with water and we actually made it back home without incident. It is about a 20 minute drive. We checked under the hood when we got home and the water cooler thingy was totally empty. I think we have a problem.
But you know...I feel certain the Lord was with us and got us to both places safely..where we needed to go to help some friends out and then home again. Isn't HE so good!? Will did not panic and really handled the situation so well. I am so proud of him. I am use to breaking down. My old Jetta use to always be over heating. It brought back some of those "fond" memories. My men were out there fixing the problem when my dh got home from work and now they are on a test run. All is well when my men make sure things are safe again.I love love love love summer. I don't care if it gets hot. I am just so happy for sun and green trees and grass and my over full herb garden. We put up a hammock and even though it is a bit saggy, it sure is a nice place to hide away and spend time with God. Me getting out of it is another story but I have a really good sense of humor.
Yesterday I walked right into one of Will's hanging birdfeeders. Bonk!!! How did I miss that? Hours later...I was in bed and was fixing my pillow and I felt something in my hair. Now, what could this be? Yep, bird seed.
Just a day in the life of us.......

Hello! Glad you got home safely. I try hard not to think about breaking down in my car here...what on earth would I do??? Everytime I get in the ar I say a prayer of thanksgiving because so far it has not given us any serious problems!!!!!! I love summer as well and I am jealous over your herb garden...mine consists of a lavender plant and some basil growing in pots on hte balcony...but I like it.
