  • The real Tom makes his presence known.

Okay.....so Casey and Kim want to know 7 weird or random facts about me.
You probably already know some of them....but here goes....

    First the weird ones....

    1. I drink at least one cup of frozen wild Maine blueberries every day....ground up in my personal juicer.

    2. In 1980 I was caught between the electrical arc of a running microwave oven and an ungrounded oven(did not know it was not grounded.)  I was cooking dinner...fish in the broiler and something heating in the microwave...I was opening the microwave door and remembered I better check the fish in the oven so grabbed the oven door at the same time...instantly I was rendered stiff and solidly attached to both door handles unable to move...with the currant running through me.  It took two grown men to pull the oven door off the the stove to free me.  I suffered NO burns on my skin but did end up with a finger broken in two places from the ripping me off the oven door.  My EKG was so wild and bizarre I was held in emergency for a good bit.  This is something I NEVER want to go through again as long as I live...in fact I am so grateful I did live through it.  I am very leery of electricity and live wires and those huge transformers or anything like it.

    3.  I saw Misty of Chincoteague stuffed...as in taxidermied...that was a very strange thing for me.

    Random......

    4.  I stood in Mary Queen of Scots bedroom in Edinburgh Castle. (This was a fascinating experience.)

    5.  One of my most favorite things to do is to walk the beach...rain or shine.

    6.  I've been spit at by a walrus...up close.

    7. I spent two entire summers as a live-in camp counselor at an Easter Seal camp for physically and mentally handicapped adults and children in the mountains of northeastern NJ.

I would like to tag....Ana, Sharon, Sheri, Donna, Amelia and Mari     and any one else who wants to do this...just let me know when you post it.

  • "I saw Misty of Chincoteague stuffed...as in taxidermied."

    That is soooo sad.  :)

  • I know...I was so in shock when I saw it..I never in a million years thought the real Misty was in the building I was entering.  It was awful.

  • Oh my word!  What an electifying experience.  Brutal is all I can say.  Did you get a perm from it?  LOL

  • i have never heard of such a thing! i'm so glad you were ok!!

  • i am so glad you are ok from that oven experience.  how awful.

    you didn't tag me?

blessings and love to you, mari

  • yeah, you tagged me. lol  now i get to play and have something to write about tonight . . .

    love you, mari

  • Hey There Sweetie!  Those are interesting facts.  You poor thing!  That was horrible what you suffered!  Bless your heart!

Thanks for the tag Susan!  I have one blog ready to go up probably tomorrow so perhaps the next one?  : )

You are a Dear and I appreciate you.  I really, really like the header scripture up at the top.  That scripture goes through my mind a lot.

Love you!   ~Amelia  (I'm having fun picking various pics for "me")  ; )

  • OK...I am coming over here to comment on your site now...LOL!!! Things do change and not always for the better!!! Atlantic City is the really sad one!! I guess Wildwood has grown in it's reputation as a party town... it used to be a great family town and I still think it has the best huge sandy beachees and the warmest water because of the gradual slope of the shelf there. Don't remember the last time I was there. Friends of ours had a house in Ocean City for a long time so we went there with our kids but they sold it a year ago so that too has changed.
Gene London HAHAHAHAHA! I also had the biggest childhood crush on him!!!! We lived in NE Philly near the train and I was sometimes allowed downtown with friends. One day we were in Lit Brothers (don't get me started on the malls and loss of the great department stores...) and I was in an elevator when who should walk in but Gene with his body guards!!! I could hardly breathe!!! He was there to make a personal appearance.
The only cartoon show I remember on Sunday mornings was "Bertie the Bunyip" it was puppets....
Nice reminising with you! Are you still somewhere near to Eastern PA? That is where we call home.

  • Happy Valentine's Day to my Tweety Bird

  • Thank you again, Mrs. Susie, and Happy Valentines Day!
