  • It is SUNNY!  I
am heading out there and going to GARDEN.  It's been COLD and rainy and
we are expecting rain and snow tomorrow....but I am at least going to
    do something...like mulch etc..

Last week I happened upon something to help me out with moving plants around.

Used but quite functional...and hey....maybe I will get adventurous during a break and take a ride down our yard!

    On
the same day I found this chair at 50% off because it was a. used and
    b. bent.  It just wobbles a tiny bit and I've been searching for a
bistro set for the garden but this will have to do as a...well....as a
    chair.

    Here are some of
the itty bitty iris' that pop up so quickly and leave just as fast.  I
tired to catch them before they lost their bloom....

    Now...you
know I will need help...so here is my help......some are going to be
more helpful than others...but I fear the only help I am going to get
is in the keeping me company part!

    DSCF0043
Old Man Crow...he's seen better days!

    DSCF0035
"Pink Floyd"....a long ago auction find with a long story..that thing is pure cement too!
Not much help....I have to roll him to move him and he does need some painting.

    DSCF0041
YES!  This will help me because I LOVE the sound of it!  Deep bell sound.  Music to me!

    DSCF0006
Yes...well....what do you expect from good old Figero???  He thinks he is a bird???  or does he have a plan?
    DSCF0008

    DSCF0015
Hmmmmm....no chance for help from him....that is a sleepy Phantom

    DSCF0014
Spoiled Jumbo???  No, he will just run all around me acting like a nut....when what he really wants is attention.

    Looks
like I am on my own...surrounded by the blooming forsythias and the
green grass and the singing birds and my wilderness bells.

I'll be back with progress...I hope!

Here is my cute little pitch fork birdhouse/birdbath I picked up last year from a local artist.

So here is the before picture.....and soon I will post the after the clean up...
    This
garden is just my little herb garden.  It is nothing compared to the
big one Elisabeth has going....and her veggie garden.  Oh and I seem to
have a bumper crop of Money Plants....RIGHT where we have a dream of
putting an addition!  We just don't have the funds yet.  But when I
went out the other day I saw all these money plants coming up....tons
of them.  Hmmmmmm....maybe we can cash them in????

    convertable cash crop???

    Later that same day.....

Just like I thought, my help was limited to these tools.....

    Here
is the work in progress....I took out all the rock stepping stones and
dug everything up.  It was the only way to get the "weeds" out.  Then I
put down that black weed barrier mesh stuff and then covered that with
mulch.  Phantom actually did come in handy...he stopped the wind from
blowing the black mesh stuff all over.

That is Anne sitting there watching me.

    DSCF0025
    This
is as far as I got because I ran out of the black mesh.  But after
loading and spreading five wheelbarrow loads of mulch...I was finished
    for the day.

    DSCF0032
I got a little side tracked by this woodpecker eating at the feeder...don't worry, Figero was occupied.

    DSCF0028
I moved the chair and transplanted some Lamb's Ears.

The crow got a new job.

    DSCF0039

A little rest with Figero before I had some fun...
I told you I might do it....
It just isn't safe to leave me alone all day!

    DSCF0036

That's all for now.  I am creeky and tired and so ready for bed!

"It's a nice long one," said Pooh, very much impressed by it.
"Well, actually, of course, i'm saying 'A Very happy Birthday with love from Pooh." Naturally it takes a good deal of pencil to say a long thing like that."
