Oh I have been such a bore haven't I? I have thought and thought about posting and then my brain goes blank. Well, things with me are not worse...and maybe a bit better than they were. I decided to just keep my mental attitude positive and try to over come the anxiety of not knowing what in the world is wrong with me. Perhaps it was just winter! Winter does weird things to me. Some tests are forthcoming but meanwhile the best help I have had thus far has been from my faithful chiropractor. If it is as simple as he thinks then it is a pinched nerve at the C5 vertebrae that seems to be causing all the trouble with my throat and neck and shoulders. The xray shows some troubles but he says once he gets me through this "crisis" then he can get me doing strengthening exercises at home. The disc is nearly gone ....I saw the xray and compared with the one he took 8 years ago....not pretty. But I got me a brand new pillow...it is shanazzy!Hopefully that will help me too.
I know it is not all the C5 thingo....I have some other symptoms but it is SPRING.....and spring is no time to be moping about. Increase the the vitamins and the herbs and get out there in the sunshine!!! Remind me of this occasionally, okay???~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So what have I been doing besides driving all over the county seeing drs. and getting lab work done???? Well.....I have been dreaming...and planning....I have a MAJOR spring cleaning plan. I have "ideas" for repainting some rooms too. I've also been reading your posts. I sure enjoy reading everything you all write.
Thank you so much for your messages to me and I've gotten some beautiful cards and surprises. They have meant so much to me!
All this thinking and planning and reading gets me so worn out....really it does..my energy level is zero. I did however go to the Civil War dance workshop that Elisabeth and Kate and Kate's folks did at one of our local historic sites last week. I was the official photographer. That was a whole lot of fun to watch. But I will tell you...it really left me completely exhausted. But worth it! Kate's folks...Mr. Chris and Miss Kim....were the musical accompanists. They did a fabulous job!
It was such a joy to see the smiling faces of everyone of all ages. What a wonderful turn out and what a success it was. Kate was a dynamite teacher and caller. She really has a gift for this. She is kind and considerate and so patient.
The gals did a brief session of explaining the clothing of the period and then dance etiquette. It was such a success that I do believe they will get to do this again!
Here are a few more pictures.
So then....what have I been doing most evenings???? I am not a tv watcher...in fact I can't even tell you when the last time was that I sat and watched anything on tv in the form of a show or even news for that matter. But I so love to watch old movies and so that is kind of been what I 've been doing off and on during this "invalid" time.
Cinderfella was one last week...the Jerry Lewis movie. That is so good.
But I'm on a Ma and Pa Kettle kick currently and am watching them now in order....4 down so far. This clip is from the movie Back on the Farm. It is a hoot of a clip....but the movies are really so much fun to watch and I have gotten rather attached to the family now. I love Ma and I really really love Pa. It helps to watch them in order beginning with The Egg and I that stars Fred MacMurry and Claudette Colbert.
Well anyway this clip is from a scene in Back on the Farm. A real homeschool Math help...don't you think?

I used to love Ma and Pa Kettle. Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride were the ones I remember. I've done those Civil War dances, way back when I was doing CW reenacting.
Hope your back feels better.
Oooh, back and neck problems can never be a simple thing to fix, it doesn't appear. Glad you are on your way to finding what is causing the pain and being able to take care of it. How neat that you were able to go to the Civil War dance workshop and take pictures! I hope you are able to post again soon, and please take care!

Hello Mum!
Haven't got much time, as I have to start getting ready... and go practice the piano!
But, the pictures look absolutely lovely!
*hugs*
Hope you're feeling better soon!

Yes...I sure could understand their way "right good!"
Everytime I think of them I crack up. Good laughter.
Hi Susan!
Uh Oh... I thought I had gotten away with hiding behind the dancers!

I love the math clip... we had a few episodes like that in homeschooling!

I hope you'll be feeling better soon. I deal with low energy from fibromyalgia. Planning and thinking about schedules and housekeeping wear me out, too! Your photos are very nice! My oldest dd and son-in-law do Revolutionary War re-enacting, but they've taken a break from it since they now have two very young children.
P.S. My husband and I watch "The Egg and I" and the Ma and Pa Kettle movies, too!
The Egg and I was the best Ma and Pa Kettle movie,I have all of them on video,
I love civil war dances!!!
