  • I’m trying to get better…

Thank you so much for your prayers
    and advice and encouragements.

Elisabeth is holding the fort down
and I am following orders to REST and drink lots of WATER.  (This is REALLY hard for me..the resting
part that is.)  I dismissed the
synthetic medicine and am doing herbal all the way here…except for an
occasional Tylenol.  I am not worse…and
yesterday the pain was much less.

This guy does make the resting a whole lot easier though.      Cat therapy…..it works.

    Did you see my Valentine
    flowers???

Oh and this is so funny…I love
funky socks and this year we gave some as gifts and I
never did get myself any.    On
Valentine’s Day my David gave me the flowers and a little gift bag and in it
were two pairs of Valentine socks!!! He did not even know I wanted some.

Elisabeth and Will gave me this wonderful
    mug too!

We were supposed to go out to
dinner too but two things…it snowed and iced…and I was not in any shape to go
out yet.  So we are going to do that at
    a later date.

But here is a picture of the
beautiful table Elisabeth set for lunch when David came home.  The pretty red with hearts tablecloth (which you can see better in the above picture with the mug) was
from Kate and it all looked so cheerful!

*Disclaimer….it looked much better without the placemats….and then we added the valentine gifts and the condiments….you get the idea…

I love tulips too….and though you can’t tell very well….these here on the table were the most beautiful pink ones.  I try to buy tulips every week during the winter at the grocery store.  Many times they are on sale when you use your shoppers saving card.

In the mail yesterday came a most delightful card from Marianna filled with tea bags that smelled so heavenly…..just in time to use in my new mug.
I love the friends we have made here on xanga!!!!

Seedsower had part of this Psalm on her site this week and it really spoke to me.  I will leave you with Psalm 57 verses 1-3.

1: Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me:
for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my
refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

2: I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

3: He shall send from heaven, and save from the reproach of him that would
swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

  • Fun stuff, good times!  That’s no fun being sick on Valentines, though.

  • :sunny: :goodjob:  So glad to hear of your rest. The flowers are just beautiful!! Take care of yourself so you can be completely well on date night and enjoy your time together. :)

  • Oh, I sure hope you’re feeling better soon!  I am so glad you enjoyed the card and tea. I had so much fun making it for y’all, xanga friends are such a blessing!  :) You sound just like me, socks and mugs are “a few of my favorite things.”  Forget girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes stuff, sometimes you just need a new mug or a fun pair of socks!   Looks like y’all had a lovely Valentines, thank you for sharing (complete with pics!) about your day. :sunny:

  • susan, i am so glad to see you are beginning to feel better.  continue to rest and rest more.  when you are feeling even better, i would like to know what you are taking?  i know literally nothing about lyme disease, and i wish i had some words of widom to share with you.  the valentine lunch is lovely.  isn’t it wonderful to have our children do sweet things for us?  you are blessed with a wonderful family.  i still have something for you sitting in my car, but it will get there this week, i promise.  better late than never.  things will calm down here this week and i will get back to a more normal schedule and have time to take care of errands.

you are in my prayers. remember to rest.

blessings and lots of love, mari

  • Susan!

Still praying for you to get back to 100%! Kate’s ribs have started hurting too, so I’m thinking it must be something to do with that terrible cold!

And definitely Kitty Therapy is a big help. Isn’t it funny how they know when you’re sick and want to be near you?

    Have a great day!
    Kim

  • Lots of cute Valentine’s things.  I love all the flowers and hearts of that day!

I hope you are feeling much better by now!  Glad your daughter is there to help you out.

  • Hey Susan…

Sure hope you are feeling much better. I had one horrific cold the other week and felt like I had been driven over by a tank. I don’t do sick very well… (Does any man?… lol). I had tried so hard to not catch a cold this winter.. but alas, I lost.

I want to thank for your comments on “The Wounds Beneath”. That was something that I had been meaning to write about for sometime.. as it is certainly something I face each day working with wounded and hurt people. Often we have no idea as to why someone behaves or exibits the behavior they do – and we simply outright reject them, and shut them out without taking any risk in helping them to find the hope and healing that is found in Christ. I must confess that even I have been quilty of that in the past, especially with extremely difficult ones.

I pray that you will have a wonderful and blessed day in the Lord and will rejoice in knowing that He is still on the throne and that you are His child.

    Blessings,

    Phil

  • RYC:  Yes, it’s always great to hear from Zach!  Like he implies in his letter, it’s really not as bad in the majority of the country as everyone thinks it is.

As for the cold, [lol], thanks for the Lysol!  Hmm… must be doing something, I’m feeling a little better.  Maybe it’s that and all the Emergen-C I’ve been chugging day and night…   Hope you’re finally feeling better, ttyl!

  • Nice pics. Take care of yourself.

  • Hope you are feeling much better. Looked like a nice Valentine’s Day.
